  1. इंदिरा गाँधी का जन्म 19 नवंबर 1917 को जिला प्रयागराज ( उतर प्रदेश) में हुआ था। 
  2. इंदिरा गाँधी के पिता का नाम पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरू और माता का नाम कमला नेहरू था।
  3. 1966 में इंदिरा गाँधी भारत की पहली महिला प्रधानमंत्री बनी। इन्हें शक्तिशाली महिला के रूप में भी जाना जाता हैं।
  4. इंदिरा गाँधी को “प्रियदर्शिनी” नाम रवीन्द्रनाथ टैगोर ने दिया था। 
  5. इंदिरा गाँधी और फिरोज गाँधी ने 26 मार्च 1942 को विवाह रचाया। इनके दो बेटे थे, राजीव गांधी और संजय गांधी। 
  6. 1964 में इंदिरा गाँधी को राज्यसभा में सदस्य के लिया चुना गया। इसके बाद उन्होंने सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्री के पद पर कार्य किया। 
  7. 1971 में गाँधी सरकार ने गरीबों के हित के लिए गरीबी हटाओ कार्यक्रम चलाया। 
  8. इंदिरा गाँधी ने देश में फैली अराजकता और अशांति को मिटाने के लिए 26 जून 1975 को सम्पूर्ण भारत में आपातकाल घोषित किया। 
  9. वर्ष 1971 में  इन्हें सर्वोच्च पुरस्कार “भारत रत्न’ से सम्मानित किया गया। 
  10. 31 अक्टूबर 1984 को इंदिरा गाँधी के गृह निवास के बहार उनके अंगरक्षकों ने गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी, जिसमे उन्हें कुल 31 गोलियाँ लगी।
