  1. ताजमहल भारत के राज्य उत्तर प्रदेश के आगरा में यमुना नदी के पास स्थित है। ये हमारे भारत की राजधानी दिल्ली से 200 किलोमीटर दूर है। 
  2. ताजमहल का निर्माण मुग़ल सम्राट शाहजहाँ ने अपनी पत्नी मुमताज़ महल की याद में निशानी के तौर पर बनवाया था।  
  3. ताजमहल का  निर्माण 1653 में हुआ और इसकी शुरुआत 1631 में हुई मतलब इसे बनाने में पुरे 22 साल लगे।  
  4. ताजमहल के महत्वपूर्ण वास्तु कला में मक़बरा, गुम्बद, छतरियाँ, किरीट कलश और मीनारें आदि शामिल है। 
  5. ताजमहल भारत की शान है। ये दुनिया के 7 अजूबो में से एक है। 1983 में ताजमहल को युनेस्को ने विश्व धरोहर स्थल घोषित किया था।
  6. ताजमहल का निर्माण मकराना के मार्बल की बड़ी-बड़ी सिल्लियों से ढककर किया गया था।  
  7. शाहजहा ने मजदूरों के हाथ कटवाए थे। यह बात बिलकुल गलत है बल्कि उनसे जीवनभर काम ना करने का वादा लेकर जीवनभर पगार देने का वादा किया था। 
  8. ताजमहल बनाने वाले डिजाइनर और मुगल काल के प्रसिद्ध वास्तुकार उस्ताद अहमद लाहौरी थे। जिन्होंने बाद में लाल किला भी बनाया था। 
  9. ताजमहल के प्रत्येक भाग को बनाने का काम अलग-अलग कारीगरों को दिया गया है। जैसे छतरी, मीनार, गुम्बद आदि और इसे बनाने में 2000 मजदूर लगें।       
  10. ताजमहल से आकर्षित होकर हर साल 10 लाख से भी ज्यादा विदेशी केवल ताजमहल को देखने यहाँ आते है, जो पर्यटक स्थल में अपना महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखता है।

  1. 1653 के समय में बने ताजमहल की लगत लगभग 32 मिलियन मानी गयी है,  जो आज के समय के हिसाब से लगभग 52.8 बिलियन रुपये (यूएस $ 827 मिलियन) का होगा।
  2. ताज महल के सामने एक बहुत बड़ा बाग़ है। जिसमे चार बाग़ और एक बाग़ है। ये बाग़ कई क्यारियों में बंटा हुआ है। इस बाग़ में ऊँचा उठा हुआ पथ है, जिस पर लोग चलकर जा सकते है। 
  3. ताजमहल एकता का प्रतिक भी है, इसे देखने के लिए किसी भी धर्म पर कोई प्रतिबंध नहीं है। यहाँ सभी धर्म के लोग आ सकते है। 
  4. ऐसा बोला जाता है की ताजमहल के गुम्बंद के निचे मकबरा है। जिस पर पुरे साल पानी की बुँदे गिरती है और ये पानी बरसात या पास में मौजूद यमुना नदी से मिलता है। 
  5. शाहजहा ने मुमताज के आलावा अपनी अन्य सभी पत्नी के लिए भी मकबरे बनवाए है। जिसमे एक मकबरा मुमताज की प्रिय दासी का भी है।
