  6. टमाटर का स्वाद खट्टा होता है, इसमें भरपूर मात्रा में कैल्शियम, फास्फोरस व विटामिन ए और सी पाये जाते हैं। विटामिन ‘ए’ आँखों की रौशनी के लिये बहुत फायदेमंद है। 
  7. शुरुआत में टमाटर का रंग हरा होता है और पकने पर ये लाल हो जाता है। इसमें बहुत सारे छोटे-छोटे बीज होते है और इसमें 90 % पानी पाया जाता है। 
  8. टमाटर के खट्टे स्वाद का कारण इसमें पाए जाने वाला साइट्रिक एसिड और मैलिक एसिड है। 
  9. वैसे तो टमाटर फल है मगर इसका उपयोग अधिकतर सब्जिओं में होता है इसलिए इसे सब्जी ही माना गया है।     
  10. टमाटर की चटनी को नाश्ते में समोसे, आलू बड़ा, पकोड़े, बड़े, डबलरोटी आदि के साथ खाया जाता है। आपने टमैटो कैचप या सॉस तो जरुर खाया होगा ये टमाटर से ही बनता है।
